Để viết được phần tổng quan trong IELTS Writing Task 1, bạn cần nhìn tổng thể để thấy được những dữ liệu chính, nổi bật trong biểu đồ. Nhìn vào 2 biểu đồ trong đề bài, mình thấy đâu là những số liệu nổi bật nhất?
Với dạng biểu đồ tròn như bài này, mình sẽ hỏi:
- Miếng bánh nào chiếm % cao nhất/thấp nhất?
Với Bar Chart, ta sẽ hỏi mình:
- Cái nào cao nhất/thấp nhất?
- Cái nào có kiểu hình giống nhau?
- Cái nào khác nhất so với những cái còn lại
Nhìn vào bar chart này ta thấy:
- Số lượng học sinh của lớp ballet là cao nhất trong 3 lớp
- Ở lớp ballet + tap: học sinh nhỏ tuổi đông hơn học sinh lớn tuổi, còn ở lớp modern dance thì ngược lại.
Dựa vào quá trình bao quát dữ liệu từ biểu đồ, Huyền sẽ có phần tổng quan như sau:
Overall, studios are by far the most common venue for dance classes, while ballet is the most popular among the two age groups. It is also noticeable that in ballet and tap classes, younger students outnumber their older counterparts, while the opposite is true for modern dance.
Thân bài
Ở phần thân bài, Huyền sẽ viết 2 đoạn thông tin theo biểu đồ, đoạn 1 sẽ mô tả dữ liệu từ biểu đồ tròn và đoạn 2 sẽ mô tả các dữ liệu trong dạng biểu đồ cột. Dựa vào những thông tin, số liệu từ biểu đồ, Huyền sẽ lập dàn ý như sau:

Looking first at locations, 48% of dance classes are conducted in private studios, making them by far the most dominant location, whereas school halls, used after school hours, accommodate only half that percentage at 24%. The proportion of classes held in community halls and other venues is lower, at 18%, while the smallest proportion, just 10%, takes place in college-based studios.
Turning to participation by age group, of the three classes, ballet classes attract the largest number of students, with around 600 students aged under 11 and nearly 300 aged 11 to 16. In tap classes, younger students also slightly outnumber older ones, at roughly 450 compared with about 420. By contrast, modern classes are more popular among older participants, with approximately 520 students aged 11 to 16 attending these classes, while the figure for the under-11 group is only around 300.
