Tổng quan
Để viết được phần tổng quan trong IELTS Writing Task 1, ta cần quan sát toàn bộ bảng số liệu và xác định những đặc điểm nổi bật nhất.
Quan sát các số liệu trong bảng, chúng ta có thể nhận thấy hai điểm chính:
- Về tổng số người tham gia: tổng số người tham gia khảo sát tăng đáng kể theo thời gian, mặc dù có sự giảm nhẹ trong giai đoạn từ 2005 đến 2007.
- Về sự so sánh giữa hai nhóm: người lớn tham gia nhiều hơn trẻ em trong hầu hết các năm, ngoại trừ năm cuối cùng khi số lượng của hai nhóm bằng nhau.
Từ đó ta có một phần tổng quan như sau:
Overall, the total number of participants increased over time, except for the period between 2005 and 2007, which recorded a slight decline. In addition, adult respondents outnumbered children in four out of the five years surveyed.

Ở dạng Table, chúng ta thường chia phần thân bài thành 2 đoạn dựa trên cách nhóm dữ liệu. Với bảng này, số liệu có thể được chia thành:
- Body 1: mô tả tổng số người tham gia khảo sát theo thời gian.
- Body 2: so sánh số lượng người lớn và trẻ em tham gia khảo sát.
Dựa vào dàn ý trên, Huyền có thân bài hoàn chỉnh như sau:
Looking first at the total number of participants, the period from 2001 to 2003 recorded the greatest growth, with participation increasing roughly fivefold, from 48,000 to 248,000. After that, the growth rate slowed considerably. The total number of participants rose to 364,000 in 2005 before dropping slightly by 2,000 in 2007. It then grew sharply, reaching 540,000 by 2009.
Turning to the figures for adults and children, in 2001, 36,000 adults took part in the survey, which was triple the number of child participants (12,000). By 2003, the figure for adults skyrocketed to over 200,000, and that of children tripled to 36,000. In 2005 and 2007, the number of adults exceeded 330,000, while the number of children declined to just over 30,000. By 2009, however, the number of adult respondents experienced a decline, down to only 270,000, while the figure for children increased more than eightfold to equal that of adults, at 270,000.
